  • The Poetics of Place in the Poem “Jerusalem is You” by Abdel Rahman Al-Ashmawy
    • Overview:

This study is based on an attempt to monitor the poetics of place, and the manifestations of the presence of the city of Jerusalem in the poetry collection of the poet Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Ashmawi: Jerusalem You, through a careful reading of the poem: Jerusalem You, which bears the title of the collection itself, as my reading draws from the “aesthetic of reception,” which makes it an open proposal and not A closed or final model, because the multiplicity of readings and interpretations frees criticism from the authority of the model and gives reading renewed creative energy.

Therefore, I do not claim to comprehensively cover all the manifestations of the place and its dimensions, as much as I aim to draw attention to the aesthetic presence of Jerusalem in the poetry of Dr. Abdel Rahman Al-Ashmawy, and to approach some of the connotations of this presence and its effects on the poet and the recipient, in order to contribute to highlighting the poet’s efforts in poetic creativity, and revealing the manifestations of It has strength and features of originality and innovation.

  • Examples of homonyms in contemporary Yemeni dialects: A comparative lexical study
    • Overview:

This research deals with studying examples of verbal homonyms in contemporary Yemeni dialects, as an attempt by the researcher to reveal the extent of the richness of Yemeni dialects in terms of words, and their proximity to the Northern Arabic language, as well as to reveal the nature of the relationship between contemporary Yemeni dialects and the Northern Arabic language, and some Semitic languages. The researcher did not find – to the best of his knowledge – an independent study that deals with this phenomenon in contemporary Yemeni dialects. What the researcher concluded is that the phenomenon of verbal homonyms is not limited – in its existence – to Northern Arabic, but is one of the phenomena that are widely spread in colloquial dialects, and it is present in contemporary Yemeni dialects in abundance. It is a phenomenon that deserves study. The researcher used the descriptive method and the comparative method. The research consists of an introduction, a preface, a comparative lexical study of examples of verbal homonyms arranged according to the letters of the alphabet, and a conclusion.

  • The role of accounting conservatism in reducing information asymmetry (an experimental study on banks listed on the Amman Stock Exchange - Jordan)
    • Overview:

The study aimed to identify the role of accounting conservatism in reducing information asymmetry. To achieve this goal, the study used the ratio of market value to book value to measure the degree of conservatism, and used the price difference to determine the level of information asymmetry. The study was applied to banks listed on the Amman Stock Exchange during the period 2019-2023, and concluded that accounting conservatism did not have a significant impact in reducing the problem of information asymmetry in banks, indicating that accounting conservatism did not play an effective role in reducing the information gap between the different parties in the market. The results also showed that the size of the bank had a significant impact in exacerbating the problem of information asymmetry, which indicates a direct relationship between the size of the bank and information asymmetry, as larger banks tend to have a larger information gap between management and investors.

  • The effect of training programs using different methods to develop strength on some motor and skill abilities and physiological variables in young players in karate and gymnastics
    • Overview:

This study aimed to examine the effect of training programs using different methods for strength development on certain motor and skill abilities and physiological variables in junior karate and gymnastics athletes. The researcher employed a quasi-experimental approach on a sample of 42 junior karate and gymnastics athletes with an average age of 15 years. They were divided into three groups, each consisting of 14 athletes. The first group served as the control group, following the traditional training method, while the other two groups followed Complex Training and Multi-Set Training methods, respectively.

The study tools included a set of physiological tests, motor ability tests, and skill performance assessments. The researcher used an independent-samples t-test to ensure equivalence in pre- and post-measurements between groups, a paired t-test to determine differences between pre- and post-measurements and the percentage of change, and one-way ANOVA to analyze the significance of differences between the mean scores of the post-test data across the groups.

The study yielded several findings, including that complex training had the most significant positive effect on coordination abilities at a significance level of (α ≤ 0.05). The multi-set training method demonstrated improvements in physical abilities, while none of the training programs had a significant effect on flexibility. The results also showed an improvement in skill abilities, with complex training having a positive effect on karate-specific skills at (α ≤ 0.05), whereas the multi-set training method led to significant improvements in gymnastics-specific skills.

Regarding physiological variables, the findings indicated a significant improvement at (α ≤ 0.05), with complex training contributing to enhanced anaerobic power, while multi-set training resulted in greater improvements in anaerobic capacity compared to the other training programs. The traditional training method played a lesser role in improving these variables. The study also revealed statistically significant differences in the levels of Creatine Phosphokinase (CPK) and Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) enzymes, while no significant differences were found in pre- and post-test measurements of testosterone (T) levels in gymnastics. However, a slight increase in testosterone levels was observed in karate athletes, particularly in the complex training group.

The results further indicated statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) among the different training programs, with complex training being more effective in coordination abilities, the roundhouse kick in karate, and anaerobic power, while multi-set training was superior in physical abilities, aerial forward roll in gymnastics, and anaerobic capacity. No statistically significant differences were found among the training methods in flexibility, CPK, LDH, or testosterone (T) levels.

The study recommended applying similar procedures and variables in strength development for karate and gymnastics across different age groups and larger samples. It also suggested conducting similar research in other sports while considering gender differences in future studies.

  • The virtues of the Qur’anic surahs mentioned in the two Sahihs and their meanings
    • Overview:

This study aims to extrapolate the authentic Hadiths found in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim regarding the virtues of Quranic chapters and their implications, as well as to demonstrate their impact on strengthening the Muslim’s relationship with the Quran. The study relied on both the inductive and analytical methods, where the Hadiths related to the virtues of the chapters were collected and analyzed to reveal their meanings and effects. The study was divided into two main sections: the first addresses the virtues of the Quranic chapters mentioned in the two Sahihs, while the second discusses the meanings of the Hadiths regarding the virtues of the Quranic chapters and their effects. The study concluded with several findings, the most notable of which is that consistently reading the Quran with understanding and reflection illuminates the path for the reader and guides them to the straight path. Furthermore, applying the Quranic teachings is considered more important than focusing solely on memorizing it, as practicing its meanings is superior to merely memorizing its words. Additionally, the study emphasized the importance of the Quranic chapters that are mentioned in the two Sahihs, namely: Al-Fatiha, Al-Baqarah, Aal-E-Imran, Al-Kahf, Al-Fath, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas, which encourage the Muslim to recite and reflect upon them. These findings highlight the importance of adhering to the Book of Allah in a Muslim’s life and affirm that continuous reading and practical application of the Quran are the ideal paths to spiritual elevation and success in both this world and the Hereafter.

  • Additions to the book (Explanation of the Summary of Al-Rawdah) by Al-Tufi (657-716 AH) in: Defining jurisprudence in language
    • Overview:

Purpose: This research aimed at explaining the missinges and the mistakes in the book “(Sharh Mukhtasar Al-Rawdah) by Al-Tawfi” (may God have mercy on him) regarding the definition of jurisprudence linguistically.

Methodology: The study follows the inductive and the analytical approach.

Findings: One of the most significant findings that the occurrence of the fall is one thing, and its manifestation is another.

As for the first: it is required by human nature. Until they praised the narrator with the slightest fall of it, and they agreed with the copyist to have a little fallout -not zero -in recognition of them that there is no escape from it!.

As for the second, it is required by the scientific trustworthiness, and the maintenance of falling into the wrong of science and work.

Originality: The value of this study appears from word’s correcting minute error turning the meaning upside down.

However it is said: the fall, even if occurred in their words, his statement is also came from their words! If the review of this research came to drop this book on an accurate scientific method, then what is only because it excelled in intruding on tables of virtues, nothing more.

    • Overview:

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disorder caused by either lack of insulin production or insulin resistance. DM classified on the top of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in the world, particularly from vascular complications. Aldose reductase a key enzyme in the polyol pathway, catalyzes NADPH -dependent reduction of glucose to sorbitol, obstructing the route for elimination of the harmful free radical species resulting in excessive accumulation of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) in various tissues.

Materials and methods: 100 diabetic patients involved, they were categorized into four groups: 25 patients with no complications,25 with diabetic neuropathy, 25 with diabetic nephropathy and 25 with diabetic retinopathy. The levels of aldose reductase enzyme evaluated in blood serum by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) (Human aldose reductase enzyme ELISA Kit) according to the manufacturer’s guidelines.

Result: aldose reductase levels were less than 300pg/ml in diabetics with no complications, 300-5000pg/ml in diabetics with nephropathy and neuropathy and more than 5000pg/ml in diabetics with retinopathy.

Conclusion: The findings showed altering levels of aldose reductase enzyme levels in the diabetic patients ranging from normal in diabetics without complications, relatively high in diabetics with nephropathy and neuropathy and significant rise seen in diabetics with retinopathy.

  • The prevalence of eating disorders and their influencing factors: an analytical study of the northwest region of Syria in 2024
    • Overview:

This study aimed to analyze the prevalence of eating disorders in Northwest Syria during 2024, considering the challenging conditions resulting from the ongoing Syrian crisis since 2011, with a focus on the factors influencing these disorders. The research adopted a descriptive correlational methodology, collecting data from a random sample of 450 individuals residing in the region. The Eating Disorder Examination Questionnaire (EDE-Q) was used to assess the prevalence of eating disorders and their relationship with various demographic and social variables, such as gender, marital status, educational level, employment status, smoking habits, physical activity, and place of residence. The study results indicated no statistically significant differences in the prevalence of eating disorders based on gender, marital status, educational level, physical activity, or place of residence. However, significant differences were found related to employment status, with retired and unemployed individuals showing higher rates of eating disorders compared to employed individuals and students. Conversely, no statistically significant differences were observed concerning smoking habits or physical activity. These findings suggest that economic and social factors, such as unemployment and low income, have contributed to worsening psychological distress and increasing the prevalence of eating disorders among the population. Additionally, the lack of awareness and the scarcity of specialized mental health services have hindered proper diagnosis, affecting the accuracy of prevalence estimates. The study recommends further research to explore the impact of cultural and familial factors on eating disorders and highlights the need for targeted psychological and social interventions to address the challenges faced by high-risk groups.
