Reasons for the reluctance of newlyweds to have children in Ajloun Governorate from their point of view

The current study aimed to identify the reasons for infertility among newlyweds in Ajloun Governorate from their perspectives. The researchers adopted a descriptive approach. To achieve the study's objective, a questionnaire consisting of (22) paragraphs comprising four dimensions was constructed, and its validity and reliability were verified. The study tool was applied to the study population of newlyweds in 2023, totaling (388) individuals. After analyzing the data using SPSS, the overall score for reasons for infertility among newlyweds was moderate, with an arithmetic mean of (3.29) and a standard deviation of (0.20). The results showed no statistically significant differences at the level of (α≥0.05) in newlyweds' views of the reasons for not having children based on age, with the exception of economic reasons, where the value of (F) reached (1.28), with a significance level of (α = 0.04) in favor of the category (under 18 years of age). This result is attributed to the fact that newlyweds who are younger and less experienced at the beginning of their married life are in greater need of advice, guidance, and an explanation of the legal purpose of marriage and its objectives, as well as the importance of preserving offspring.

The study reached a set of recommendations, including: religious awareness of the legal purposes of marriage in Islam; inclusion of pregnant women under the umbrella of free health insurance; encouraging birth control, rather than birth control or abstinence; providing advice and guidance from specialized family centers; and providing psychological support to those about to get married.

هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى التعرف على أسباب العزوف عن الإنجاب عند حديثي الزواج في محافظة عجلون من وجهة نظرهم، اتبع الباحثان المنهج الوصفي، ولتحقيق هدف الدراسة تم بناء استبانة مكونه من (22) فقرة مكونه من أربعة أبعاد، وتم التأكد من صدقها وثباتها. تم تطبيق أداة الدراسة على مجتمع الدراسة من الأشخاص حديثي الزواج لعام 2023، والبالغ عددهم (388) شخصا. وبعد تحليل البيانات من خلال برنامج SPSS)) أنّ الدرجة الكلية لأسباب العزوف عن الإنجاب لدى حديثي الزواج كانت متوسطة اذ حصلت على متوسط حسابي(3.29) وانحراف معياري (0.20).

     وأظهرت النتائج عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تعزى لمتغير الجنس والمستوى الأكاديمي، كما تشير النتائج إلى عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى (0.05≥α(في وجهات نظر حديثي الزواج لأسباب العزوف عن الإنجاب تبعًا لمتغير العمر، باستثناء مجال أسباب اقتصادية إذ بلغت قيمة (F) (1.28)، وبمستوى دلالة.(0.04 =α) لصالح فئة (دون 18 عاما )، تعزى هذه النتيجة إلى ان حديثي الزواج الأقل عمرا وخبره في الحياه  في بداية حياتهم الزوجية بحاجه بشكل أكبر للنصح والإرشاد والتعريف بغاية الزواج الشرعية والمقاصد الشرعية منه، واهمية الحفاظ على النسل.

توصلت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من التوصيات منها: التوعية الدينية بمقاصد الشرعية الإسلامية من الزواج شمول مظلة التأمين الصحي المجاني للنساء الحوامل التشجيع على تنظيم النسل وليس تحديد النسل او العزوف عن الإنجاب، تقديم النصح والإرشاد من قبل مراكز الاسرة المختصة، تقديم الدعم النفسي للمقبلين على الزواج.
