Analysis of the impact of gender, study environment, and type of subject (quantitative and theoretical) on academic performance: An applied study on students of the College of Science and Humanities in Thadiq, Shaqra University, 2024 AD

“This study aims to analyze the impact of gender, study environment (in-person or remote), and subject type (quantitative or theoretical) on the academic performance of students at the College of Science and Humanities in Thadiq, Shaqra University. The primary issue is to determine the extent to which these factors, both collectively and individually, affect students’ academic achievement. Using Three-way ANOVA, the study examined the impact of these variables and their interactions on student performance. The results revealed significant effects of gender and subject type on academic performance, while the study environment did not show a significant individual effect. However, there was a significant interaction between the three variables (gender, study environment, and subject type) on academic performance. The study aims to provide a detailed understanding of how these factors influence academic performance and offers recommendations for developing teaching strategies that align with these effects.

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل تأثير الجنس، بيئة الدراسة (حضوري أو عن بُعد)، ونوع المادة (كمية أو نظرية) على الأداء الأكاديمي لطلاب كلية العلوم والدراسات الإنسانية بثادق، جامعة شقراء. المشكلة الأساسية تتمثل في تحديد مدى تأثير هذه العوامل مجتمعة وفردياً على تحصيل الطلاب الأكاديمي. باستخدام تحليل التباين الثلاثي (Three-way ANOVA)، تم فحص تأثير هذه المتغيرات والتفاعلات بينها على أداء الطلاب. أظهرت النتائج وجود تأثيرات معنوية للجنس ونوع المادة على الأداء الأكاديمي، بينما لم يظهر تأثير معنوي لبيئة الدراسة بشكل فردي. كما تبين وجود تفاعل معنوي بين المتغيرات الثلاثة معًا (الجنس، بيئة الدراسة، ونوع المادة) على الأداء الأكاديمي. تسعى الدراسة إلى تحديد مدى تأثير هذه العوامل على الأداء الأكاديمي للطلاب بشكل مفصل، وتوفير توصيات لتطوير استراتيجيات التدريس بما يتناسب مع هذه التأثيرات.
